The Lent Season in the ongoing Bahasa Bible dispute

According to the Catholic calendar, this is the season of Lent, the six weeks before Easter where the faithfuls are required to undergo penance, be prayerful, fasting and charitable. In other words, Lent is a season of soul-searching and repentance. It is a season for reflection and taking stock.

However, the on-going dispute with regard to the usage of the Bahasa Bible has somehow or other turn the holy season into something very significant. From my own reflection .....

Just like Judas Iscariot, the Christian Ministers sold out their faith and community to the "Pharisees" of the day.

What was the worth? Thirty pieces of silver, the salary the Ministers earned

The Holy Bible is put on trial and ridiculed

The Holy Bible is desecrated

Just like the Romans who mockingly labeled Jesus "INRI" or "The King Of Jews" by placing the plaque at the top of the cross, so was our Holy Bible labeled.

But still, until the end, the Holy Bible says, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do". [Luke 23:34]

To all my friends, may I take this opportunity to wish you a Holy and Solemn Lent Season.
