Mahathir seeking funds from Israel

The following is a report, quoted from Bernama:

Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad today said it was true that the Malaysian government, when it was under his administration, had responded to a letter sent by Ehud Barak, the Israeli Prime Minister then.
He said Israel wanted Malaysia to change its stand on its international relations with Israel.
"I responded saying that Malaysia will not have any ties with them (Israel) for as long as they refused to acknowledge the right of the Palestinians," he told reporters after the launch of the WaqafWater4Gaza Peace Expedition here Thursday.

And the following is the letter written by Mahathir to the then Prime Minister of Israel, Ehud Barak.

The question is, is there a correlation with what he said and what he wrote?  This is even worse than Anwar's statement about the 2-state policy between Israel and Palestine.
