Ambiga Sreenevasan, must feel somewhat awkward these days with all the attention given to her in leading the BERSIH 2.0 charge for a fair and clean election. If BERSIH 2.0 comes through on July 9 followed by a change in the federal government in the coming GE13, full credit must therefore be given to her for her steadfast belief in moving society forward to a better tomorrow for all Malaysians. Even under the threat of "preventive measures" [read ISA] by the police, she untiringly soldiers on to ensure that the rally proceeds as scheduled on July 9. A lawyer by profession, former chairman of the BAR Council and today, Chairman of BERSIH 2.0, on March 11 2009 received the Award for International Women of Courage from Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama at the White House, an honour that would make many Malaysian women proud. She now makes good of this award by having that courage to stand up to the might of UMNO, PERKASA and PDRM.
