When the High Court rejected her application to change her name, Aleesha Farhana, who was born Mohd Ashraf Hafiz Abdul Aziz, was devastated.
To all those people, especially the politicians, who are fond of denying the rights of a person like Aleesha, thank your lucky stars you, your children, grand children, uncles, aunties, grand parents, nephews and nieces are born normal. The least one can show is some empathy (not pity which is something she would not want) for her. Aleesha was living with a tormented soul and I believe it was our duty to treat her as a human being and part of our society so that she can feel wanted. Instead, we found her being persecuted to her grave. Now I guess everybody is at last satisfied that there is one less 'abnormal' person infesting our society. What a bunch of hypocrites. Aleesha can now find love and comfort in the arms of God.
